Bag Packing

The Bag Packing session at Asda on Saturday 26 March went very well. The lads and parents put in a geat effort and thanks to the generosity of the Asda customers a sum of £1,333.97 was raised. Many thanks to Rachel, who organised the afternoon, and to Asda and its staff for the assistance and support they provided and of course to the customers who donated their hard earned cash. Thanks again for everyone's support. Money raised will be used to set up a trust/foundation in Oliver's name. The beneficiary of the trust is likely to be the CRY organisation which raises awareness of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and also promotes heart screening and ECG testing programmes. CRY's vision is 'to protect the cardiac health of the young by establishing good practice and screening facilities devoted to significantly reduce the frequency of sudden young cardiac death throughout the uk'. Oliver King Memorial Trophy

It was fitting that Diamonds returned to action in the renamed Oliver King Memorial Trophy. It was a difficult and emotional day and prior to the match a tribute to Oliver was held in the form of a minute's applause. The lads wore special T shirts bearing a picture of Ollie and his number 8 in honour of their friend and team mate. Thanks go to Whiston for sharing in the tribute to Ollie - it was appreciated.
